Briefing: Is NSW about to become nuclear and how can we stop it?

About The Event
It's been revealed that the NSW Government has been working on a plan to lift the decades long ban on uranium mining and nuclear power plants in NSW.
Reports have suggested Deputy Premier John Barilaro, backed by One Nation, is pushing for the ban to be lifted. This proposition is very much on the table with One Nation’s bill in the NSW Upper House and a Government bill in the works.
Labor and the NSW Left have a proud and long history of working with the environment movement and the peace movement to stop uranium mining.
That’s why we wanted to bring NSW Left members together to update them on what’s happening.
Join us on the 23rd September to for a discussion of the threat posed by this bill, the politics of it in NSW, and what we can do. We have a fantastic line up of speakers:
- Rose Jackson MLC
- Chris Gambian (CEO, Nature Conservation Council of NSW)
- Mich-Elle Myers (Junior Vice President of the ALP, MUA) and
- Dave Sweeney (International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons, Australian Conservation Foundation)
