About The Event
Join us for the Annual Bruce Childs Lecture and end of year Left drinks.
Our speaker this year is Osmond Chiu, who will be speaking about the challenges and opportunities in improving culturally and linguistically diverse representation in Australian politics.
The speech will be followed by nibbles and drinks with comrades. It’s been a long time between drinks, and would be fantastic to see you there!
More about Osmond
Osmond Chiu is the Senior Policy and Research Officer at the Community and Public Sector Union and a Research Fellow at the Per Capita thinktank. He is also a rank-and-file representative on the NSW Labor Policy Forum and editor of Challenge Magazine.
His writing has appeared in publications including The Sydney Morning Herald, Guardian Australia, Canberra Times and South China Morning Post. He was also a contributor to the book ‘What Happens Next? Reconstructing Australia after COVID-19’ and recognised as one of the 40 most influential Asian Australians under 40 in 2021.
