Time & Location
08 Aug, 6:30 pm
About The Event
On Tuesday August 8th the NSW Left is hosting an online discussion in the lead up to National Conference on environment and climate policy.
The discussion will be facilitated by Asren Pugh and we will be joined by:
· Tanya Plibersek MP - Minister for the Environment and Water
· Senator Jenny McAllister - Assistant Minister for Climate Change and Energy
· Felicity Wade - National Co-Convenor, Labor Environment Action Network (LEAN)
The Environment, Climate Change & Energy chapter has been the focus of many local branch motions as well as campaigns from left unions and groups like LEAN.
Some of the issues raised to be discussed at the conference include reducing emissions from gas; a climate strategy for the land sector, native forest logging and land clearing; achieving the Murray Darling Basin Plan; supercharging our clean energy jobs opportunity with a response to the US Inflation Reduction Act; and the reform of national environment laws and independent institutions.
Join NSW Left comrades for a great discussion to hear direct from Tanya and Jenny about the work the Federal Government is doing in this space, and from Felicity about some of the key campaigns LEAN and others are driving in the lead up to conference.
