Join us for a very special panel discussion on housing with Minister Rose Jackson, Shelter NSW's John Engeler and Linda Przhedetsky. The discussion will be emceeed by Charishma Kaliyanda, President of the Left and Parliamentary Secretary for Customer Service and Digital Government, Emergency Services, & Youth Justice.
Rose will be talking to us fresh off the back of the State Budget securing the largest ever investment in public housing by building 8 400 new public homes - half of these homes will be dedicated to women and families experiencing domestic violence. As well as that it will:
- Fix 33,500 public homes in desperate need of repair - the biggest investment in public housing maintenance ever.
- Deliver over 21,000 affordable and market homes across our state.
- Be a record investment in homelessness services and properly fund crisis accommodation all while building the homes we need to tackle long-term homelessness.
- Build affordable rentals for key workers - so they can live in the communities that rely on them.
- Undertake the biggest planning reforms in a generation - building homes around existing infrastructure and fast tracking the delivery of social and affordable housing.
- And much more!
There's still more to do, and as we head into this year's State Conference we'll hear about the fights the NSW Left is leading to make renting fair - from no fault evictions to pets in rentals.
